41Stones' Euro double

John Stones had never scored twice in a professional game before City’s trip to Feyenoord in the Champions League last season.

But 63 minutes into the game at the De Kuip and he’d bagged his fist brace thanks to two towering headers.

The first, which came inside two minutes, was the fastest goal City have ever scored in the Champions League, and his second was an emphatic bullet header that gave Brad Jones no chance.

It was a brilliant night for Stones and City. We were 3-0 up inside 25 minutes in one of the most one-sided Champions League games in living memory, with Stones looking confident and assured at the back and a huge threat from set pieces.

It was our third win on the bounce and momentum was definitely building.

42Another new Premier League record

City’s final-day win away at Southampton saw us register 100 points for the season.

But it was also our 16th away victory of the campaign, a new Premier League record.

The previous holders, Chelsea, managed 15 under Jose Mourinho in 2004-05.

In total, we took 50 points on the road – exactly half of our overall total – which is two more than Chelsea’s previous record of 48.

Just one of many major milestones in a memorable season.
