SHORTLIST: Sergio Aguero and Ilkay Gundogan have been nominated for two Premier League awards.

City players are up for a trio of Premier League awards for October.

Ilkay Gundogan is in the running for the EA Sports Player of the Month Award, Sergio Aguero is challenging for the Carling Goal of the Month and Paolo Fernandes is on the Premier League 2 Player of the Month shortlist.

Gundogan was one of the bright spots in a tough October for City, the Germany international bringing his superb blend of work-rate, technique and footballing intelligence to the Blues' midfield.

His crowning performance was the two-goal, one assist display in the 4-0 win at West Brom.

The second goal from that game, Aguero's howitzer into the top corner, is up for the goal of the month award.

The Argentinian scored his 12th and 13th goals of the 2016/17 campaign in all competitions at the Hawthorns, the latter an unstoppable blast from that famous right boot.
