City trio in line for Argentina crunch game

PLEASED TO MEET YOU! Nicolas Otamendi gets to grips with Gabriel Jesus

PLEASED TO MEET YOU! Nicolas Otamendi gets to grips with Gabriel Jesus

While Europe hosts a number of high-profile international friendlies this week, things are heating up in South America.

The South America World Cup qualifiers continue with some fascinating games this week.

Pablo Zabaleta, Nicolas Otamendi and Sergio Aguero could all start for Argentina, still licking their wounds from a 3-0 defeat to Brazil last week.

The Albiceleste will host Marlos Moreno’s Colombia on Tuesday evening knowing a win could ease talk of a crisis as well as climbing above the third-placed Colombians - a defeat could possibly see the Argentines slip to third bottom of the South American World Cup qualifying group.

Fernandinho and Gabriel Jesus are likely to again start for group leaders Brazil who travel to Peru, looking to strengthen their their grip at the top.

Claudio Bravo limped out of Chile's clash with Colombia last week and faces a fitness test ahead of the clash with Uruguay. Chile can ill-afford to drop points against the Uruguayans who could pull nine points clear of Chile with a win in Santiago.

Raheem Sterling and John Stones could again feature for England in Tuesday's friendly with Spain where they are likely to come against club team-mates David Silva and Nolito.

Aleksandar Kolarov has served a one-match ban and will be available for Serbia's game against Ukraine, also on Tuesday.

Ilkay Gundogan’s Germany will take on Italy while Leroy Sane will again represent the Under-21s against Poland and Angus Gunn could feature for England Under-21s against France on Monday evening.

Kevin De Bruyne, Vincent Kompany and Kelechi Iheanacho will all return to Manchester having completed their duty.
