Things we love: Gabriel Jesus and Bruno Mars

THINGS WE LOVE: Featuring Gabriel Jesus and Bruno Mars.

THINGS WE LOVE: Featuring Gabriel Jesus and Bruno Mars.

It’s that time of the week again, when we scour the internet to fish out the best of what it’s had to offer over the last seven days.

All with a City twist, of course, though Bruno Mars does make an appearance in this edition.

Here’s what’s on the Things We Love list this week…

Goal scoring Gabriel

Gabriel Jesus is worthy of inclusion for the second consecutive week after he grabbed a goal in the 2-2 draw at Middlesbrough.

There’s no doubt he would have much preferred it to have been a match winning strike, but for both the youngster and fans, it was fantastic to have him back in the starting XI and on the scoresheet following his injury lay off.

Twenty-four karat magic

... Is the name of the world tour Bruno Mars is currently embarking on.

And when it rolled into Manchester for the first of two performances, a man who’s provided an abundance of magic in the Blue shirt was there to enjoy the show.

So, for those of you who wonder what footballers like to get up to away from the pitch, David Silva gave us an insight this week, with this clip of Mr Mars doing his thing on Tuesday evening.

Lions pride

Regulars at the Academy Stadium this season will have seen Phil Foden and Jadon Sancho torment many a defence, so it’s little surprise to see them at it in an England shirt, too.

The Young Lions kicked off their Euro U17 campaign against Norway on Thursday, with Sancho displaying his trademark pace and trickery to set up England’s equaliser.

And Foden’s effort to make it 3-1 wasn’t bad either…

Comebacks

After an injury hit 2016, it was a pleasure to see Megan Campbell back in the Manchester City Women squad for the Spring Series opener against Birmingham City Ladies.

The defender was named as a substitute but came off the bench in the second half to complete months of hard work and her comeback from injury.

Well done, Megan!

Roberts’ reward

With a Scottish Premiership and League Cup to his name, Patrick Roberts’ loan spell at Celtic has been particularly fruitful and he had more reason to celebrate as the Scottish PFA revealed their end of season award nominees.

With 13 goals to his name the winger has been shortlisted for the Young Player of the Year award and will find out if he’s been successful at a ceremony on Sunday 7 May.

Congratulations and good luck, Patrick!
