Loan Watch: Derby day for Roberts, Bryan back

LOAN WATCH: How have our loanees fared across the world?

LOAN WATCH: How have our loanees fared across the world?

Manchester City’s loan stars have been in action again this weekend. How did they fare…?

It was derby day in Glasgow as Celtic and Rangers locked horns in the Old Firm and Patrick Roberts was involved, coming off the bench on 68 minutes.

Stuart Armstrong opened the scoring for the Hoops but the visitors fought back with a Clint Hill strike on 87 minutes.

Meanwhile, Billy O’Brien kept a clean sheet as St Mirren were held to a goalless draw by Dunfermline.

South of the border, there was excellent news for Kean Bryan, who made his return from long-term injury in Bury’s 0-0 draw at Oldham. The 20-year-old was brought on just after the hour-mark, having not featured since October.

A league above, Aaron Mooy’s Huddersfield were on the winning side once again, with a 1-0 triumph at Brentford. The Australian was introduced from the bench on 57 minutes

In Italy, Bruno Zuculini helped Hellas Verona to a 1-0 triumph at Brescia, playing the full game.

Though he completed 91 minutes, Olivier Ntcham could not continue his fine scoring form, as Genoa fell to a 1-0 home defeat against Sampdoria.

In the Netherlands, it was a day to forget for City’s loanees at Twente, who fell to a 3-0 loss at Ajax. Enes Unal played the full game, while Bersant Celina was replaced on 75 minutes and Yaw Yeboah was an unused substitute.

Of the Blues five representatives at NAC Breda, only two featured in the 1-0 victory over Telstar: James Horsfield (90 minutes) and Manu Garcia (87 minutes). Ashley Smith-Brown and Thomas Agyepong were on the bench, while Brandon Barker was not in the squad.

In Spain, Pablo Maffeo’s Girona were victorious (2-1) at Reus Deportiu, while Elia Mangala was brought off on 81 minutes of Valencia’s 1-1 draw with Gijon. Angelino also had to share a point as Mallorca drew at home to Lugo.

Marlos Moreno was on the bench for Deportivo’s 2-1 victory over Barcelona.
