YOUNGSTER: Ryan Sessegnon celebrates his goal against Hull City in this year's FA Cup

Good morning City fans! It’s the Monday ahead of a major week in the Champions League but the headlines largely focus on the club’s potential activity in the transfer market.

If you believe the Sun then City are interested in Fulham’s 16-year-old full-back Ryan Sessegnon.

Alan Nixon speculates: “Ryan Sessegnon has caught the eye of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

“Fulham’s teenage left-back has been a sensation in his first few appearances at Championship level.

“City are already convinced he can cut it in the Premier League — and for England.

“Tottenham have had a go for Sessegnon — who turns 17 on May 18 — and know that the Cottagers want at least £8million for the local lad.

“Pep will get the cheque book out as City believe Sessegnon could play for them immediately because of his outrageous potential.”

Scott Wilson reports:Manchester City have lined up Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as a leading summer target – and are confident of landing the 22-year-old whether the Black Cats retain their Premier League status or not.

"Since breaking back into the Sunderland side at the start of the season, Pickford has rapidly established himself as one of the most exciting young goalkeepers in Europe."

Now to Tuesday’s night Champions League clash and the dangers Monaco may pose for City, with Reuters pointing out the talents of midfielder Bernardo Silva.

Julien Pretot writes: “"When Bernardo arrived, I straight away said he was a good player but that he needed to keep working," said Moutinho. "And that’s what he’s done this year. He had two fine seasons but this year he’s really been a revelation.

“"Messi, Eusebio, Cristiano Ronaldo, Maradona, Pele... They’re players who are and will remain in football history. I hope and believe that Bernardo has the quality to get close to that level."

“With six goals and five assists in 25 Ligue 1 appearances, Silva has been instrumental in Monaco's rise to the top of the table in a team who have scored 76 goals in 26 matches.”

Finally, ESPN have run a feature on the contrasting fortunes of Brazil’s young strikers Gabriel Jesus and Inter’s Gabriel Barbosa.

Tim Vickery says: “As well as his goals, Gabriel Jesus has caught the eye with the excellence of his movement and his combination play -- and took all of that confidence with him to the north of England, where he made such a dramatic early impact with Manchester City.”
