READY: Gabriel Jesus wants more title wins with Manchester City.

Gabriel Jesus is targeting a trophy-laden spell with Manchester City after winning the first league title of his career with Palmeiras.

Fresh from securing the club’s first Campeonato Brasileiro for 22 years, the forward has expressed his desire to ensure he continues to taste success once he joins up with Pep Guardiola’s side in January.

Sunday’s 1-0 win over Chapecoense – in which the 19-year-old played the full 90 minutes – saw Palmeiras clinch a record ninth Brazilian title with a game to spare.

It was a fitting end to the youngster’s association with the Green and Whites and coupled with 2015’s Brazilian Cup win, means Jesus has lifted a two trophies since his professional debut in March last year.

The in-coming City star is already focused on replicating that winning feeling in a sky blue shirt, as he stated in the immediate aftermath of the weekend’s championship-clinching victory.

"Here in Brazil I got the habit of winning titles,” he told journalists. “Now I hope there are many more to celebrate in the future."

Jesus put pen to paper on a four year deal with the Blues in August, but remained at the Sao Paulo outfit on loan until the end of their domestic season.

His run of form since then has certainly caught the eye of watching City fans.

The striker played a pivotal role in Brazil’s 2016 Olympic gold medal win, before further proving his credentials with five goals in six games once he was called up to the senior squad.

This latest accolade caps what's been a remarkable 2016 for the Selecao's No.9.

Brazil legend Cafu has previously acknowledged his talent, while new manager Pep Guardiola has also revealed how pleased he is to have secured Jesus' services.
