The long-awaited return…

After a week away from Premier League action, there’s now only one day to go until we’re able to see our much-loved team go back in action on British soil.

Man City will take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday and the media are in full swing as they attempt to determine the outcome of yet another highly anticipated Premier League weekend.

To add to City fans' anticipation, we found out that one man could be on his way back for the battle at Palace.

Simon Bajkowski from the Manchester Evening News reports. “Bacary Sagna, injured during the October international break, has indicated he is ready for selection should Guardiola decide to call on him.

“The Frenchman has not started for City for nearly two months, having had his workload managed before then anyway following his efforts at the World Cup.”

From an Instagram post where we see Sagna saluting and a hashtag of #bacisback, we put two and two together. He has also been spotted at first team practice during the whole week.

Sagna can add stability at the back, especially as we still await the return of defensive rock, Vincent Kompany. However, things do look positive for the Belgian.

“Guardiola will also hope to be able to call on Kompany after the defender stood down from Belgium duty”, reports Bajkowski.

“City's captain was named in Belgium's starting lineup against the Netherlands last week but withdrew before kick-off and was not risked in the following game.

“Red Devils boss Roberto Martinez confirmed that Kompany had not suffered an injury and did not play as a precaution.”

Just as it was good to see a strong performance from our players during the international break, it was a relief to have them back at CFA fit and ready to go, as AFP reports.

“The good news for Guardiola is that his international players have returned from World Cup qualifying duty in good health.

“There was a concern over goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, forced off with a minor knock while playing for Chile against Colombia, but he recovered for Tuesday’s 3-1 win over Uruguay, saving a penalty from Luis Suarez…

“Midfielder Fernandinho has returned to Manchester in good spirits after captaining Brazil for the first time as they closed on a place at the 2018 World Cup in Russia with wins over Argentina and Peru.”

Sergio Aguero also returns having moved into sixth all-time on the City goal scoring list. He’ll be joined by fellow international teammates, Pablo Zabaleta and Nicolas Otamendi.

So.., who else can’t wait for tomorrow!? Be sure to keep a keen eye out for Pep Guardiola’s press conference today around 13:30 GMT for the latest on team news. We’ll be updating live on Twitter.
