City head out to Australia this week for pre-season training and to take part in the International Champions Cup, presented by Audi.
We’ll bring you exclusive interviews throughout our trip Down Under and bring you the very latest news and updates from the training camp.
It promises to be a fascinating tour, with the Blues beginning their match schedule against sister club Melbourne City at the Cbus Super Stadium on 18 July.
Then Manuel Pellegrini’s men will take on AS Roma in the first International Champions Cup match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 21 July.
City last met with Roma in December when goals from Samir Nasri and Pablo Zabaleta secured a 2-0 victory and progress to the Champions League Round of 16.
The teams also met in a tense clash at the Etihad Stadium earlier in the group fixtures with Sergio Aguero’s 4th-minute goal cancelled out by Francesco Totti’s 23rd-minute equaliser, earning the Romans a 1-1 draw.
City then wrap up the tournament with a game against deposed Champions League winners Real Madrid.
The La Liga giants last took on the Blues in 2012/13 with the Blues coming within a whisker of a famous victory at the Bernabeu with goals from Edin Dzeko and Aleksandar Kolarov giving Roberto Mancini’s side a 2-1 lead with just five minutes to go – only for Madrid to score two late goals and clinch a thrilling 3-2 victory.
The teams later met at the Etihad Stadium, drawing 1-1.
The majority of players return from their summer break on Monday with those involved at Copa America joining the squad later.
