Joe Hart says City are only thinking of a victory in the Champions League when AS Roma visit the Etihad.
After suffering an agonizing defeat to Bayern Munich in the opening group game, Hart says it is crucial the Blues start their home campaign with three points.
“It was obviously a disappointing start for us and this is a huge game for us,” said the England No.1. “Luckily it isn't the knock-out stages straight away and we have time to put things right but we need to start the home fixtures with a win.
“Roma have been doing very well and obviously we’ve been more aware of them since we drew them in our group and they had a great result on Matchday 1 as well. Every game is hard in this competition but we are more than capable of winning and we are all up for it.
Losing to Bayern was disappointing but that’s football – we could have come away with a point or maybe could have even won against one of the best teams in Europe but it wasn’t meant to be
“We seem to have had tough draws throughout our brief Champions League history and these are special nights, but have to set your standards high and make sure you win your home games.
“It will be great to see Ashley Cole and catch up with him. I know him well from England and when he was with Chelsea and I’m looking forward to finding out how he’s enjoying life in Italy.”
Hart also admitted the Blues have to guard against costly late goals having conceded late goals to Bayern, Barcelona and Real Madrid in recent seasons.
“Though we have conceded late goals, it also shows you were getting there,” he said. “It proves we can match the big boys and now we just need to complete the job starting against Roma on Tuesday.”
