Adebayor can't stop scoring

Emmanuel Adebayor made if four goals in a week for Spurs and was again the pick of the City players currently out on loan over the past seven days.

Adebayor netted twice as Tottenham came from behind to beat West Brom 3-1 to move into third in the Premier League and just seven points behind City.

Chris Chantler’s move to Carlisle means that there are now five Blues plying their trade in League One and while Chantler, Andreas Mancini (Oldham) and Ahmad Benali (Rochdale) went unused this weekend, both Harry Bunn and Luca Scapuzzi were in action for their respective sides.

Bunn played 79 minutes as ’Dale lost 2-1 to Uwe Rosler’s Brentford, and Scapuzzi was replaced just after the hour during the goalless stalemate with Bournemouth that left Oldham’s Paul Dickov calling for goal-line technology

...Loan watch.

The Championship relegation battle continues to heat up as Ben Mee and Kieran Trippier both played 90 minutes for Burnley – the Clarets coming from two behind to steal a 3-2 win over Hull in the final minute to move away from the drop-zone.

Just as well, with Ryan McGivern’s Bristol City pulling off a shock 2-0 win over top-of-the-table Southampton. Just goal difference now separates the Robins from safety.

Greg Cunningham’s Nottingham Forest sit just one point off the drop zone after slipping to a 1-0 defeat against Cardiff – the Irish defender a regular starter now for Forest.

Reece Wabara played just three minutes for Ipswich who continued their slide towards the bottom with a fifth consecutive loss despite leading 2-1 as the game moved into stoppage time and Alex Nimely is still yet to score after playing 15 minutes of Middlesbrough’s 1-1 draw with Peterborough.

John Guidetti's good form continued as he knocked in an equaliser for Feyenoord during their 2-1 at Waalwijk, but Abdi Ibrahim only had a yellow card to show for his trouble as NEC were condemned to a ninth defeat of the season while hosting Ajax.

Real Betis continued their torrid recent form with a 3-2 loss at home to Sociedad – Roque Santa Cruz unable to get on the score-sheet.

Vladimir Weiss  fared no better as Espanyol were beaten 2-1 by ten-man Osasuna, while in Scotland David Gonzalez earned Aberdeen a point against relegation rivals Dunfermline with a 3-3 draw.

Finally, the Norwegian season has now come to a close and it ended disappointingly for Mohammed Abu and Omar Elabdellaoui’s Stromgodset who were hammered 5-1 by Haguesund.

Despite taking the lead and without Elabdellaoui, Stromgodset were simply outplayed as their dreams of a top four finish were dashed and they finished eighth.
