Thursday's win over Aalborg has Micah Richards believing that City go all the way in the UEFA Cup.
The England international was part of a defence that ensured that Shay Given was rarely threatened, and his attacking play caused the Danish side more than a few headaches.
"We know we can go far in this competition, now we can start believing it a little bit more," Micah asserts. We have the players to go as far as we can; now it is down to us.
"After the Villa game we had a lot of confidence and we wanted to give it 100% against Aalborg. We had a few players missing again, but we worked well as a team and we showed we can play our football whoever is on the pitch."
Despite City's dominance, especially before the break, the threat of an away goal for the visitors ensured that the Blues had to be on their guard, and Micah paid tribute the example set by City's skipper.
"You have to concentrate, because we have seen it so many times when a goal can change a whole game. You have to stay focussed, and Richard Dunne is amazing at doing that. He is always telling us to stay focussed, see the game out to the end, and that's what we did."
Turning to next week's second leg, Micah is confident that the Blues can stay sharp and book their ticket into the quarter finals.
"We're confident we can get a goal. We have to go over there and just play our football, in this competition we have done well away from home so hopefully we can carry that form on and go through.
"We've played a lot of games this season, it has been a tough ride for us, but we just trying to get our bodies and minds right so we can keep going."
