Stuart Pearce 0607

With City taking part in their first pre-season game of the season this evening, an away trip to Wrexham, Stuart Pearce has revealed his plans for tonight's squad.

He exclusively told mcfc.co.uk: “Well we’re going to play two sides, 45 minutes each, that’s what we are looking for physically from the players to get a good half under their belts.

“You hope to come out of the game with no injuries – that’s the main concern. We’ve been back in since last Monday so we’ll have had ten days back at it and we’ve got a game.”

After a week and half of training in some sweltering conditions, the boss added: "I think the players are looking fairly fit and this first game will give the lads a different level of fitness.

"We’re looking forward to it, there’s one or two new players that have come into the Club that will be hopefully playing, so it’ll give you more of an indication of how it’s shaping up."
