Swansea's Liam Cullen scored at both ends, before goals from Lorenzo Gonzalez and Nabil Touaizi-Zoubdi secured the three points for City.

What happened

In our final Premier League 2 game of the season, with a highest possible finish seventh and a lowest of tenth, City started brightly at the Academy Stadium.

With just ten minutes gone, Jeremy Frimpong jinked past a couple of Swansea defenders, before laying the ball off to Benjamin Garre who's effort was blocked.

From the resulting corner, Tommy Doyle's in-swinger hit an opposition head and flew into the top corner to give City the first goal of the game.

Just four minutes later though, Swansea equalised. Liam Cullen caught our back four on the break, before lobbing the ball over Tom Scott, off the bar and in.

On the half-hour mark, it was our turn to counter-attack, and we did so devastatingly with Lorenzo Gonzalez providing the finishing touch to restore City's lead.

We looked to control the game in the second half, and did so for the majority.

However, with just over an hour on the clock, Scott was called into action to brilliantly deny Cullen his and Swansea's second of the game. The Swansea striker looked certain to score, but Scott was incredibly quick down to his left-hand side to palm the ball out for a corner.

We nearly extended our lead in the 72nd minute, when Gonzalez found Garre, who did well to make room for the shot, but couldn't beat Josh Gould.

Nabil Touaizi-Zoubdi replaced Gonzalez, and after just ten minutes of being on the pitch, scored to make it three goals, and three points for City.

What it means

We finish our Premier League 2 campaign with a total of 30 points.

How we lined up

Scott started in goal, shielded by a back four of Alpha Diounkou, Colin Rosler, Cameron Humphreys and Tyreke Wilson. Iker Pozo La Roso and Doyle played in the middle of the park, with Frimpong and Garre out on the wings. Gonzalez led the line with Adrian Bernabe in the number 10 role.
