Gai Assulin’s loan to Brighton and Hove Albion has been extended until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old Israeli midfielder moved to the south coast in February on an initial month-long deal, but after making four appearances he has impressed manager Gus Poyet to the extent that he will stay with the Seagulls until 19 May.

Brighton are currently just a point short of the play-off positions, with Gai’s City team mate Abdul Razak also on loan at the AMEX Stadium for the rest of the campaign.
