City in the Community have teamed up with Mobile Force Field to keep children safe online.
The Club's foundation will be installing a child safety app on 45 mobile tablets used to deliver a number of CITC’s health and education programmes.
Mobile Force Field is the world’s first software application that keeps children safe whenever they use mobile devices by taking proactive steps to protect youngsters from cyber bullying, sexting and online grooming.
Mobile Force Field’s unique software also allows the CITC team to disable social media apps such as Facebook and Twitter during lessons and block specific URL’s.
City in the Community and Mobile Forcefield handed out over 500 free trial vouchers for fans to try the new app before the recent home match vs. Everton. A further 500 vouchers will now be handed out to parents of CITC participants.
Mike Green, Head of CITC, said: “The CITC Foundation work with more than 45,000 young people across Greater Manchester every year providing support in a variety of areas including football and multi-sport, health and education and community cohesion..
“We use mobile tablets in schools and youth projects to deliver our health and educational projects and ensuring the safety of the young people is a top priority.’
“We are delighted to be able to work with CITC,” said Matt Archer, Mobile Force Field. “By teaming up we will be able to provide support to the vital work they do in helping our community.”
“Mobile Force Field is a genuine world first. It works in conjunction with the parents’ wishes stepping into intercept only those messages or images that are deemed inappropriate or suspicious whilst enforces parental wishes as to what is, or isn’t suitable web content.”
Mobile Force Field have already provided the CITC team with a new mini bus and transit van used to deliver the CITC programme across the Greater Manchester community.
