Local schools reach regional football final

Premier League 6aside tournament - birmingham

Two local schools were honoured at the Birmingham game for their fantastic recent footballing achievements.

Former player and CITC’s Executive Manager Alex Williams MBE met the two groups of young people who have reached the prestigous regional finals in the annual Premier League 6-a-side tournament. Each team was presented with brand new City kits for every member.

The U11’s Mixed Tournament Winners were Cavendish Primary School in West Didsbury who battled their way through the group stages to beat 40 other schools. They are now through to the regional finals at Blackburn where they will represent Manchester City on Wednesday 21st April.

The U13’s Girls Tournament Winners were Parrswood High School in East Didsbury. Winning all their games in the group stages they looked a very strong team going into the semi finals and will represent City again at Blackburn.

The winners of the regional finals will take part in the grand final at Anfield in May.
