Manchester City and Northern Ireland international defender Ryan McGivern has joined Coca-Cola League Two side Morecambe on a loan deal until November 23.
The paperwork was agreed this morning and the 18-year-old will now go straight into the Shrimps squad for tomorrow’s trip to Port Vale.
Another of the Blues FA Youth Cup winners, McGivern has won three senior international caps this season, impressing boss Nigel Worthington in the process.
And former fellow Northern Irish international player, now Morecambe boss, Sammy McIlroy said of the deal: “I have seen Ryan play a few times and been very impressed by what I have seen and all the reports I have had of him.
“He will be a very welcome addition to the squad.”
