City’s FIFA esports representatives for the ePremier League final have been confirmed after a dramatic night of FIFA 19 action at the Etihad Stadium on Friday.

Connor ‘iBattleCat’ Keys will represent the Blues on XBOX, while City’s very own Kai ‘deto’ Wollin takes centre stage on the Playstation console.

On the XBOX side, Keys was a dominant force throughout the event, with a performance that saw him sail through the 16-man console bracket with relative ease.

He confirmed his position as City’s ePL XBOX representative with a comfortable 9-2 (agg.) victory in his final against DoubleMelees.

Things were a little less straight forward in a highly-competitive Playstation bracket, with former Playstation World Champion Wollin coming from behind to win in consecutive matches early on.

It was a cruel fact that only one of City’s two Playstation pros could prevail in the console final, but it was Deto who eventually came out on top, scoring a Golden Goal overtime winner to send fellow Man City pro Shaun ‘Shellzz’ Springette home empty-handed.

After the event, Deto said: “Shellzz’s defence is one of the best in the world, for sure, and he played an insanely good match. This one could have gone either way. I’m just happy and proud to represent City at the ePremier League.”

Both Deto and iBattle Cat will take their places as City representatives at the ePremier League Grand Final, which takes place in London on 28 and 29 March.

Congratulations, both!
