Premier League transfer window closes
After a vote by Premier League clubs, this 2018/19 transfer window closes on this day.
The idea is so that all squads are finalised before the first game is played, so all business must be done by 5pm.
Clubs outside the top flight can still sign free agents and loan players up until 31 August.

Kick-off: 7.30pm
Nick Cushing’s side face Barcelona in a high-profile pre-season friendly at the Academy Stadium.
With the group stages of the Continental Cup starting on 18/19 August and the new FA Women’s Super League starting on the weekend of 8/9 September, City will look to sharpen up in preparation for the new campaign.

Nick Cushing’s side will learn their fate for the Round of 32 knock-out round.
City receive a bye to the Round of 32, along with Lyon, Wolfsburg, PSG, Barcelona and 15 other clubs.
12 teams will battle to join the last 32 via the group stage of the tournament.

City’s first home game of the campaign is against David Wagner’s Huddersfield Town.
The Terriers fought for a priceless 0-0 draw last season in the same fixture, becoming the only team to prevent the Blues scoring at home in the Premier League.

Friday evening at the Etihad Stadium for the EDS.
Liverpool finished Premier League 2 runners-up last season, but the Blues won this fixture 3-2 in an entertaining game.

The first of a double-header against Wolves, with the Academy team staring half-an-hour before the senior team, both games hosted in the Black Country.

Newly-promoted Wolves host the Blues and will look to repeat their excellent Carabao Cup tie at the Etihad last season.
Nuno Esprito Santo has strengthened the squad and Wolves, nicknamed ‘the Man City of the Championship’, will look to push the champions all the way again.
