Manchester City fans can now enjoy an exclusive ‘day in the life’ experience at the Etihad Campus thanks to a collaboration with Snapchat.

The Club has collaborated with the multimedia messaging app to create the world’s first live story that take fans behind-the-scenes at a football club.

Providing supporters with an all access pass to the Etihad Stadium and the Club’s state-of-the-art training facility, City fans will get to watch rarely seen activities, which show what life is like both on and away from the pitch for the players and staff of their beloved Blues.

With star of the show Yaya Toure using the Snapchat Spectacles to lead proceedings, fans will get a first person view as he takes them across the CFA to show off his skills and interact with his team mates.

In amongst all this, the live story also sees Pep Guardiola and the likes of Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling in training, while Ilkay Gundogan also joins the fun as he continues on his road to recovery.

The Manchester City story will be live for 24 hours from 12 noon on Thursday 26 January and is available to view in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australasia and South America.

Commenting on this football first, Diego Gigliani, SVP for Media and Innovation at City Football Group, said: “Snapchat has become a key way for Manchester City to communicate and connect with our younger global fan base.

“Since launching our account in 2015, our follower and engagement numbers have increased rapidly, as we’ve embraced the platform’s story-led content approach, recruited a fan to be our match day Snapchat host, and experimented with Spectacles as well.

“We’re proud to be among the first football clubs in Europe to launch our own Snapchat Lens and even more delighted to be the very first football club in the world to launch a live story on Snapchat outside of competition.”

This latest Snapchat offering follows the earlier introduction of the City Snapchat lens, which gives fans the opportunity to show their colours whilst cheering on their team at the Etihad Stadium.

Painting their face blue, the lens allows fans to also head a football in real time as they show their followers their support for City.

Only available whilst at the Etihad or City Football Academy, all you need to do to use the lens is open up your Snapchat app and turn your camera to selfie mode to capture your face.
