Steph Houghton and Jill Scott gave HRH the Duke of Cambridge tips on how to take the perfect penalty as part of his royal visit to Manchester.
The Manchester City Women stars met Prince William and his wife, HRH Duchess of Cambridge as they made a number of appearances across the city on Friday 14 October.
Demonstrating the best way to achieve success from 12 yards, William duly obliged by slotting his own penalty past the ‘keeper, before quizzing the England internationals on their league and cup double triumph and UEFA Women’s Champions League debut.
Jill and Steph ensured William - a keen sportsman himself - can enjoy the beautiful game with his children HRH Prince George and Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, as they presented the royal couple with a football for George and a Manchester City kit for Charlotte, with Jill joking that the Prince's daughter could be a future England Women's star.
Earlier in the day William and Kate were introduced to young people from across Greater Manchester, whose achievements showcased the best of what the county had to offer.
As reigning U18 Premier League champions, the Club's success at youth level was recognised with five players from the Club's Academy and Elite Development Squad's (EDS) selected to meet the royal couple.
Lewis Blackshaw, Joe Coveney and Lukas Nmecha from the U18s, plus Ellis Plummer and Denzeil Boadu from the EDS offered an exclusive insight into life as an Academy player as the visit celebrated Manchester's sporting success.
