City Square is all set for a Chinese extravaganza as we welcome the Year of the Monkey on Saturday.

We’ve lined up a host of entertainment to celebrate Chinese New Year and as always there’s plenty to get you in the mood for the top of the table clash against Leicester City.

There’s always a chance to get your hands on a prize at City Square and even more so this weekend.

Make sure you bump into our Playmakers to get your hands on one of the 4000 fortune cookies we’re giving away. Each cookie contains a special prize and you could win a Blue Carpet experience, a hospitality upgrade, a pitch side visit and plenty more!

The cultural feast continues as City Square hosts three unique performances. A traditional Chinese lion parade will be weaving its way through the crowds, while supporters can also hear the tale of the Monkey King, a famous Chinese story which is brilliantly told through dance, music and colourful costumes.

Prepare to be amazed by our martial arts group who will wow the crowds with their amazing acrobatics, breath taking balancing acts and unbelievable feats of physical skill.

As always, there’s a chance to test yourself and this week a signed 2015/16 shirt is up for grabs. In keeping with this week’s theme we’ll be asking fans to show us their chopstick skills in a bid to win the prize.

If that’s not convinced you to arrive at the Etihad Stadium in plenty of time, then perhaps the sight of two former Blues will make you set your alarm that little bit earlier.

Former England internationals Trevor Sinclair and Darius Vassell will be on stage chatting to our presenting team. The ex-teammates will be talking all things City, including stories from their time in the sky blue shirt and reflecting on their 2002 World Cup experience.

Plus, having ended his career in a Leicester shirt, the former City striker will be giving his thoughts on how Claudio Ranieri’s men will fare in this 1st v 2nd showdown and its impact on the end of season run-in.

MCWFC return to action on Sunday as they face European opposition for the first time ever at the Academy Stadium. We'll be chatting to Toni Duggan and Nikita Parris ahead of this pre-season friendly and they'll also be telling us how training has been going ahead of the 2016 FA WSL.

This week’s musical offering sees local and international acts take to the stage. Based in Liverpool, but hailing from Norway is Aleks Grey, who’ll be performing his soul, gospel and electronica influenced blend of pop rock.

Rum Thief make the considerably shorter journey to the Etihad Stadium. Fronted by solo artist Jot Green, the Chorlton based rockers are looking forward to playing in front of a local crowd.

And there’s more.

Once again City in the Community will be in the Square selling tickets for their Celebration Day raffle, so make sure you buy a ticket and enter the draw to win a Nissan Juke.

It’s a special City Square this week so arrive in plenty of time to enjoy all the festivities.

See you Saturday!
