Win tickets to the International Women's Day Awards

Throughout the month of March, celebrations will take place for International Women’s Day - and you can be part of it.

The Council’s second annual Manchester International Women’s Day Awards are part of the activities, which have been held in Manchester for more than 25 years, and Manchester City Football Club are proud to have become a sponsor for the event.

As part of this sponsorship, the Club are offering the chance for female footballers aged 16-18 to win a pair of tickets to attend the awards ceremony on Friday 7 March.

MCFC will also back a prize for ‘Women in Sport and Leisure’, which will be awarded to an individual who has excelled in the field of sports or sports promotion, community-based leisure or parks.

Through their work, the winner will have demonstrated tangible benefits for Manchester residents and communities.

Former City goalkeeper and City in the Community ambassador Alex Williams will form part of the judging panel.

A spokesperson for MCFC said: "It’s an exciting time for Manchester City with the recent re-launch of the Women’s team.

"MCWFC players are role models for young girls across Manchester and we hope that their example, together with the opportunities the club is providing, will inspire the next generation to take up the sport."

If you have shown exceptional levels of commitment to the women’s game in your local communities during the past 12 months and would like to be in with a chance of winning a ticket, please email [email protected] with a paragraph outlining your achievement and your thoughts on why women’s football is important to you, by Tuesday 4 March.

Please note: entrants under 18-years-old must be accompanied to the ceremony by a parent or guardian.

The winner will then be selected by a panel of MCFC judges, including a representative from MCWFC. Terms and Conditions apply.
