Andy Morrison and Alex Williams MBE were present as the London branch of Manchester City’s Official Supporter’s Club celebrated its 50th anniversary.
The branch, which marked its half century in November 2016, were joined by the City legends at their base – The Horseshoe in Farringdon.
Described by long standing member Mick Sheeran as a night of “blue heaven” the celebration was hosted by broadcaster and City fan Susan Bookbinder, with Official Supporter’s Club General Secretary, Kevin Parker, also in attendance.
With The Horseshoe adorned with shirts from the previous 50 years and all manner of City memorabilia, the attendance of two former players was the highlight of the evening.
A video charted the branch’s story as fans recalled 50 years following the Blues and the friendships made along the way.
Founder member Bob James gave a fascinating insight into the branch’s beginnings, which was complimented by fellow founder Norman Cooper, who reflected on the changes he’d experienced in his half century with the London Supporter’s Club.
In recognition of their support, Kevin Parker presented the branch with a commemorative plaque and crystal bowl to mark the occasion.
