City Square to provide pre-match fireworks

City Square birds eye

We’re all set for a cracker of a game at the Etihad Stadium tonight, but the fireworks will start beforehand as City Square hosts a special Blues bonfire.

Make sure you arrive by 7.15pm to enjoy the spectacle as we decorate the sky before kick off.

The boys will need your support tonight and you can also warm up the vocal chords at our bonfire, which will be accompanied by some classic City songs.

This week’s former player guest is ex-captain Keith Curle, who’ll be on stage giving us the benefit of his expertise.

We’ll be discussing the Champions League Group Stage so far and after a win, a draw and a recent defeat, the Carlisle boss will be telling us what he thinks City need to do to bounce back.

Our one-time defender will be joined on stage by two big Blues from the worlds of music and tennis.

First up is Stockport tennis star Naomi Broady. Currently ranked in the top 100 players in the world, we’ll get her reaction to the weekend’s emphatic win over West Brom and find out what impact she thinks this can have this evening.

After that we’ll be chatting to former lead singer of The Wanted, Max George. He’ll be giving us an update on his career as well as offering a fan’s perspective on how City have started under Pep Guardiola.

Larkins are one of Manchester’s hottest bands right now and they’ll be providing the musical entertainment before kick off. Currently selling out venues with ease, they’re bringing their fierce set of funk infused pop for us to enjoy this evening.

With one eye on the next game, we’ll be giving away hospitality tickets for the visit of Middlesbrough on Saturday, in a competition with a Catalan twist.

Housing not just a famous football club, Barcelona is also home to La Sagrada Família, and we’ll be asking three fans to put their Lego skills to the test and build a replica of the iconic landmark.

So, if you think you've got what it takes, make sure you've arrived by 6.35pm.

Don’t forget, keep up-to-date with the latest City Square information on Twitter and join the conversation using #CitySquareLive.

See you tonight!
