Former captain of City’s Youth Cup-winning side in 2008 Ben Mee made his debut as an Academy Graduate in September 2010 and is currently enjoying a loan spell at Championship side Burnley.

Mee was born in Manchester and since he joined City has risen through the Academy ranks. Statuesque at 5’11”, he played a pivotal role in the Under 18s FA Youth Cup success in 2008, captaining the side and scoring to help the Blues to a 4-2 aggregate victory over Chelsea.

After a couple of seasons gaining experience in the reserves, Mee was included in the squad that travelled on the 2010 pre-season US Tour. He made two appearances during his time Stateside: against the Portland Timbers and the New York Red Bulls. On returning to England and having just turned 21, Mee was included in the City starting line-up for the first time, but sadly the League Cup tie against West Brom at the Hawthorns ended in defeat for the Blues.

In January 2011 Mee linked up with former City manager Sven Goran Eriksson when he moved on loan to Championship side Leicester for the rest of the season. He made 15 League appearances for the Foxes before returning to City. Mee has since joined Burnley on a season-long loan, where he lines up alongside another Academy product in the shape of Keiran Trippier.
