Thank you and goodbye đź‘‹

A disappointing day at the office for City, who are knocked out of the FA Cup at the semi-final stage.

The damage was done by two early United goals from Bizet and Clinton and, despite the Blues battling hard for the full 90 and going close on a couple of occasions, it wasn't enough to send us to Wembley.

The focus now turns to the WSL, with four huge games still to come before the season's end. Thank you as always for your company, and see you next week for Sunday's 13:00 (UK) kick-off against Everton here at the Joie Stadium.

Steph Houghton on BBC Sport

"Some of the players Nick's mentioned there, they walk into most teams in the WSL.

"Take away Bunny Shaw, Miedema, Greenwood, that's a spine of experienced quality players who pose more questions for the opposition.

"Unfortunately City just haven't had the rub of the green this season. Ultimately this is a big learning curve, but it's how we can get better as a club moving forward."

More from Cushing

"I think ultimately the big issue is how we get the 11 or 12 injured fit and healthy. We have depth if we have Viv Miedema, Jill Roord, Bunny Shaw, Alex Greenwood, Lauren Hemp, Mary Fowler, you can keep going.

"If we have those players we have a team who can compete with anyone but we don't.

"Today you've seen a team who've played a lot of football but my disappointment today was that we just didn't start with the desire that we needed."

Nick Cushing speaking to BBC Sport

"I suppose the inquest for us is why we started so slow.

"We talk so much about tactics, systems and the beautiful side of the game but it's a good example of one team not competing there.

"We didn't win a second ball, a duel and if you don't do that side of the game you'll never earn the right to play."
