That's a wrap 👋

Thank you for your company as always!

City are into the League Cup last four, where we'll face Arsenal on 5/6 February.

Back to winning ways with a hard-fought win over our rivals, and onto Aston Villa on Saturday.

Join us from 11:00 (UK) at the weekend as we aim to build on tonight's victory.

Until then, keep across mancity.com and the official Man City app for plenty of reaction!

Gareth Taylor reaction 🗣

"It was a real gutsy performance, tonight we really matched the endeavour which United probably edged us with on Sunday.

"It was more hustle and bustle tonight and finding a way to win and you have to credit the girls for that.

"We spoke about it before the game, a lot of the time you don’t come away from a derby thinking you’ve had a top class performance, it’s usually effort and endeavour.

"Lily’s goal was really good and Coombsy’s too, a really gutsy performance."

Lily Murphy reaction 🗣

"It’s an incredible feeling, to do it in front of the fans as well who have come down, it’s unreal.

"It just gives you more fire to do it again and hopefully get the win [when you play in a derby].

"I think we all had that fire in us. We wanted to be strong, but I think we put it all out there and did great.

"I’m just trying to take the opportunities where I can."

21:16

Laura Coombs on her goal and Lily Murphy 🗣

"Yeah, I’m really happy, I should’ve had two but we’ll forget about that!

"Lily was great, she has so much pace to burn and is a great asset for us. If we keep building her up and her confidence up, she’ll do great things."

21:14

Laura Coombs reaction 🗣

"We’re so happy. Especially after Sunday we just wanted to come here, get the win and get to the semis. We’re so happy with that.

"We had so much fire in our bellies coming into today.

"We knew it might not be a pretty performance, but we just wanted to come here and put a few things right that we didn’t get right at the weekend.

"Now we can put Sunday behind us, we’re really happy."

Next up...

Barring an absolutely ridiculous comeback from the hosts, we'll be facing Arsenal in the last four of the League Cup.

The Gunners are 4-0 up at Brighton at the moment, with our trip to London coming on 5/6 February.
