Final words from Nick💬

"The mentality of our group should be to win trophies and be competing at the top of the league, so however the game looks we should be able to win it.

"Of course we want to be better offensively, but at 2-1 and 2-0, we should win the game.

"That's a little bit of the story of our season. The game was a good example of where we've been all year. We have to get better."

More from Nick💬

"When you have key players injured and have players on the pitch coming back from injury who haven't played that much football, you're almost trying to rely on the character of the team and the real desire to get over the line.

"The game swung on a moment. For us, if we can create some bigger opportunities in the second half and take the game to three-one, I think we get over the line and get three points.

"But at 2-1 Manchester United were still in it, you can see they got the direct ball in the box and got the moment."

Nick Cushing reaction 🗣

"It's painful. There is a lot of disappointment in there because I think you can see by the performance that the commitment was there and the desire to get the win today.

"Ultimately the challenge was too great for us in the sense of trying to push the game. The team's very tired, we lost some players and lose Leila again.

"In the end it was just too much, but I'm proud of the character of the team. You can see the real will to win for Manchester City."

More from Laia 🗣

"We had the hunger to win and we fought until the last minute. Everyone was trying to give everything for this team and for this Club.

"For the fans and for the Club, we will keep doing it."

14:15

Fight 'til the end

The girls get together in a huddle after the final whistle, with Nick Cushing speaking to them all about the game.

You can see the emotion in his and the players' faces. It's a sickener but this team stick together through the highs and the lows.
