THAT'S ALL FOLKS 👋

That's it for today on our Matchday Centre, thank you as ever for following proceedings from Anfield with us.

What a game and what a team as City moved back to the top of the league and extended our unbeaten run to seven straight matches in all competitions with Bunny's stoppage time winner.

We'll be back on Wednesday as Gareth Taylor's side continue our Champions League campaign with a trip to Austria to face St Polten on Wednesday 16 October.

Our coverage for that one begins at 16:15 (UK) before kick-off from Vienna at 17:45 (UK).

See you then, thanks once again 💙

GARETH TAYLOR TO SKY SPORTS 🗣

"Final time winners are amazing. Probably seen it here at Anfield by Liverpool so many times over the years, but for us it's great because I felt we deserved it.

"I thought we were really dominant in the game. We were a little bit slow in the first half moving the ball and Liverpool were really well organised and it's so hard to play against a back five.

"We got our rewards in the end. Sometimes you don't, but we kept knocking on the door and probing and playing in our way. Particularly in that last half an hour.

"I was really proud of the performance."

BUNNY SHAW TO SKY SPORTS 🗣

"Coming into this game, we knew it was going to be tough especially after the game we had mid-week," she said.

"We had to try to get the job done at the end of the day, sometimes an ugly win is just as important  as the three points so we had to just keep going.

"We know the type of team Liverpool are, they're very direct and they like to put the balls in behind so I think for us it was about getting contact and winning second balls.

"They got one in the first half but we knew once we stick to our principles and what we're capable of we're going to get goals."

BUNNY BOOKED

Shaw goes into the referee's book for appealing a decision a little *too* much when Liverpool were awarded a throw.
