Goodbye πŸ‘‹

A tough one to take this afternoon, but we'll bounce back just like we have before!

City gave everything to try and get something from the game, but Everton held firm.

One more game to sign off before the festive break, and it's a big one away to Barcelona.

See you then!

It's frustrating, second half you're chasing the game and they have something to hold onto it makes it really difficult.

Any team would miss Viv, Alex, Bunny Shaw, it's tough for us no doubt, I'm sure they'd have a big say today but it is what it is. The team's doing the best they possibly can, we're disappointed to lose but we'll bounce back.

We are what we are, we'll have to get the guys together tomorrow and see what team we can put out [against Barcelona].

It's a good game for us to bounce back.

Yes, it is disappointing. We were a bit flat today and looked like a team who'd played a few games recently.

We didn't seem to have a lot of energy. We controlled large parts but in the first half especially we gave away too many counter attacks. We suffered a bit with Everton having chances and they made the most of them.

A tough afternoon

Credit where it's due, Everton set up with a gameplan and executed it to perfection.

They were compact and organised - really frustrating our usual free-flowing play.

City's shape change did bring a bit more spark to our play after the break, but it wasn't enough to overturn that two-goal deficit.

Plenty of effort, but it hasn't reaped the rewards today. We'll regroup.

Defeat on Merseyside. A frustrating one to take.

City wait for the opening, with Aleixandri eventually shooting from distance.

It bounces wide, and gains a big cheer from the Everton fans.

That could be it, unfortunately.
