That's all, folks 👋

Thank you as always for your company today.

It wasn't to be for City, with a late PSG penalty settling the tie in Perth, but we can look back on the performance with plenty of pride.

The players will stay in Australia for a few more days before returning to the CFA ahead of next Monday's UEFA Champions League draw.

Until then, keep across mancity.com and the official Man City app for plenty of post-match coverage from today.

Christiansen on Arsenal opener

"It's a tough match. The way historically the WSL has been won is between head to heads in that top three cohort.

"Last season at the Joie Stadium, City were the dominant team and it's about putting the chances away.

"Arsenal at the Emirates, it'll be a sell-out and there'll be an away section which will be class to see.

"It's a great start when they're playing football like they have tonight, they'll be fresh and ready to go but have to be ruthless."

PSG perspective

In eight days time City will be in the Champions League second round qualifying draw, where we'll face a two-legged tie for a spot in the group stages.

PSG also enter the competition at this stage and will be one of the more established sides hoping to progress.

It'll be a tough assignment if we draw them, but we've proven we can mix it with the best in the business this afternoon.

Some final words of wisdom from the boss

Christiansen on City's new signings

If you're in Gareth Taylor's shoes, I think you're super happy with the impact of the players who've come on.

The Fujino's Yamashita's, Miedema, Layzell, it's really pleasing, they don't look like new signings.

That says a lot about the recruitment and then also the players' application straight away to hit the ground running at a new club.

Thank you as always for your amazing support today and across Australia!

Izzy Christiansen on Matchday Live 🗣

City were by far the better team but PSG always carried that threat on the counter.

Their goalkeeper had a bit of a worldie didn't she, but City can take a lot of positives, especially from that first half performance and a lot of players getting good exposure.

Plenty of positives

It's always gutting when you lose out to a late goal, particularly a penalty.

But it's important to look beyond that and at the performance overall.

To put things into perspective, City have gone toe to toe with a side who reached the Champions League semi-finals last season, and will feel we did enough to win it on another day.

Plenty of reaction to come, so stay tuned!
