Thank you as always for your company this afternoon - it's been another memorable day at the office for City, who extend our unbeaten start to the campaign with a standout performance at the Joie Stadium.

A brace apiece for Jill Roord and Bunny Shaw, as well as Laia Aleixandri's first in a City shirt, were enough for the points on the day.

It's now 21 unbeaten at home in the WSL, while we also currently sit top of the tree before Liverpool's clash with Everton.

Another important match is on the cards next weekend as we travel to Leicester. We'll look forward to seeing you then 👋

"I said recently that the performances this season and today are my idea on football.

"It’s a really intelligent way of playing and you need that intelligence on the pitch, we have that.

"I’ve been really impressed with the girls, this was my idea on how to play.

"Sometimes we can’t play that game but I also think when you look at that side of the nitty gritty, we’re capable of that.

"We have to keep pushing because this is just a start, we need to cotinue with this same form after the international break."

"It's a good win.

"[We] started on the front foot, dominated large parts and when we lost it we were tigerish is getting it back. 

"We set high standards in the first half and probably could've done with our play being rewarded with a couple more goals. 

"We lacked that little bit of composure but I have to say I'm very pleased. It's difficult against a back five and [our] players adapted well to it and sensed when we needed to be. 

"Jill and Bunny were in the right positions to score goals as well. It was impressive."

Jill Roord has always prided herself on being a midfielder who loves a goal, but even she can't possibly have imagine the start she'd make to life at City.

Three goals in three WSL matches is a brilliant return in the opening month of the campaign, but she brings so much more than that.

City can be extremely proud with that performance.

The first half was explosive, the second half professional. It was another example of how strongly we've started the campaign.

And with results going our way elsewhere, we currently sit top of the WSL table!
