TAYLOR'S POST MATCH THOUGHTS 🗣

“I think you have to give great credit to the way we defended as a team.

“I thought we were throwing bodies. I didn’t enjoy the second half I’ll be honest for the second game in a row, but we know we can look after the ball much better than that in the second half.

“How can I be critical of the team? They’ve been superb defensively this season. We’ve got so much desire to keep clean sheets.

“It’s not just Khiara, it’s Alex Greenwood, Alanna [Kennedy]. It was a hell of a block from Alanna when she came on. Demi Stokes doesn’t play for ages and then comes into a game like that and is all hands to the pump.

“We’ve got things we need to improve on but it’s a big step for us. It’s a big step.

“It’s my first win here. It’s true, they made it a bit of a fortress and we’ve broken that record now and I think the girls deserved it.

“We played some good stuff in the first half and in the second half we broke and should;ve done better with the counter attacking.

“Towards the end it was a fantastic display of defensive work from the whole team.”

ALEX GREENWOOD POST MATCH 🗣

“[I feel] relieved and delighted. [I’m] so glad when the final whistle went.

“Unbelievable character from the team to come here and do that against this team. It’s unbelievable.

“I think we showed two different sides to us today. We played when we could, we defended resiliently.

“It’s a massive win, we stick together. Go away on international break and come back with eight games to go. Stay focused and go again.

“I think we’ve always had what it takes [to win the league], I think for us it’s staying humble and we do what we do every day of the week.

“We stay focused with eight games to go but we’ll enjoy this and we should enjoy this. We’ll then regroup and go again.”
