Kick-off approaching

The warm-ups are complete, and City make their way back into the changing rooms.

The travelling supporters clap them off the pitch as they make their way back down the tunnel.

Sharpening up 💪

Hop to it 🙌

It's no secret that Bunny's been firing on all cylinders so far this season.

She's been involved in more goals than any other player in the WSL so far this season (7 goals, 1 assist).

The Jamaican has also scored in all but one of her six appearances so far this term in the league - a record she'll be desperate to continue today on Merseyside!

Heady heights ️⚽️

It's safe to say that City are known for our free-flowing, attacking play.

Interestingly though, no side in the Barclays WSL has scored more headed goals that us so far this season!

Unsurprisingly, Bunny Shaw leads the way with four of those five goals, which also sees her sit top of the charts.

Speaking on the Jamaican...

Deyna Castellanos 🗣

“I think right now we have improved a lot since the beginning of the season. We feel more comfortable with each other and with what the coaching staff want.

“I think we are in a good momentum, and I hope we can take advantage of that.

"[Everton] have a really nice team, they have some really good players.

“It’s going to be a challenge for us. Playing at their ground is always difficult so hopefully we have a good game and can bring the win back to Manchester.”

Slick passing

City are looking sharp ahead of the action today, with the starting XI zipping the ball around in a possession-based exercise.

Meanwhile, Khiara Keating and Sandy MacIver's reflexes are being tested with some crossing exercises.

Lively atmosphere 👏

The noise is building here at Walton Hall Park as the players' warm-ups continue.

A sell-out crowd is expected today, and that definitely looks like a possibility so far!

It'll be an exciting atmosphere for City, and one that we're sure to thrive off!

Ready for action ✌️

Linking up 🤝

There's some familiar faces lining up against each other this afternoon!

This afternoon is the first time Sandy MacIver will face her former side, having joined City from Everton this summer.

Esme Morgan, who captains the side today, spent a successful spell on loan at the Toffees in 2019/20, while Chloe Kelly also switched Merseyside for Manchester back in 2020.

The links continue, with Alex Greenwood also in with a chance of facing her former Club should she feature from the bench today.

100% record!

City have won all 12 of our Barclays WSL meetings against Everton.

It's the best 100% record one team has against another in the competition's history.

Another victory today would make City just the second side to win 13 consecutive games against an opponent in the WSL, with Arsenal having won each of their last 13 against the Toffees.
