Well done, Enzo!

More from Haaland

How can we improve?

[By] keeping the ball, when to keep it when to go, working together offensively and defensively. You can always be better and there's always a new chance. A new game in three days so that's lovely.

On being ready for chances:

You can look at it that it's difficult to keep concentrated for 100 minutes or you can look at it like it's only 100 minutes you have to stay focussed to get a chance - you can look at it in a few different ways and I look at it in the second option."

Enzo Maresca reaction

Tough game in some moments. We controlled quite well but some moments we struggled. Champions League, Germany away, it's tough so happy with the three points.

They are well organised, they were aggressive and dangerous with the wingers. We needed to be careful on transition. Happy with the three points and now we recover and move on.

Haaland reaction

I think it’s the most I've scored against a club. I’ve played so many times against them with City in the Champions League and with Dortmund as well. Leipzig is a good team so I'm super happy about that.

Elliot has been amazing. He had an amazing start to his City career and that's what you expect, you have to come straight in and perform. That’s how the world is now and it's not easy, normally you need time to adapt and time to get to know your new teammates and the new coach. He’s been impressive. Respect.

Antonio Nusa reaction

We feel we should have maybe done better, but they are a quality side and you could see at the end with the chances they had.

Joleon Lescott on TNT Sports

A coach said to me when I was younger that it's sometimes better to be lucky than good, and that was the case [today]. I think they were fortunate enough to come away with the victory.

I think Leipzig had more shots on goal than Man City. It wasn't as controlled in any elements of the game when they were out of possession. They didn't create multiple opportunities or sustained pressure in Leipzig's final third.

Owen Hargreaves on TNT Sports

[City] are just conceding too many easy goals.

I don't think they were really under massive pressure, and in a lot of the games teams get a chance then they score.

Teams are incredibly efficient against them which will probably frustrate Maresca, but the good thing is they have won the game. They probably should have scored more at the end, they had a couple of moments when they could have squared it.
