On we go...

That's a wrap for this afternoon. Thanks as always for your company on what turned out to be a good day's work for Pep and his side.

We have two more matches next week, starting with a trip to Monaco on Wednesday evening. Then it's Brentford in the Premier League next Sunday.

In the meantime, keep your eyes on mancity.com for full reaction and highlights from this one and build up to another busy seven days!

Pep on Haaland 🗣️

With low block, they have three centre backs with him and a block from the four midfielders there so the space is so difficult but always we can find him. Sometimes it’s to make a cross, he himself makes some movements to find him.

Erling is so strong there. Every time we are reading better and better these kind of situations. Sometimes he would maybe not be so involved but still have four clear chances. Erling is that. His numbers are insane. We joke but the numbers are incredible.

Pep on Doku's performance 🗣️

I ask the wingers in the final third to go one v one. I have the feeling that Jeremy’s decision making in the final third has improved like wow compared to the past.

Assists, goals, seeing the channels. He’s an incredible threat against teams with low block, he’s really important.

When it is more transitional he can maybe struggle a little bit but when they are in the box, he’s really good. For example the second goal, when Jeremy went there, two or three opponents went.

When Jeremy is there, they send two or three because in the box one v one he is unstoppable.

Over five or ten yards, no winger can match Jeremy. He can go left or right. That means anyone near him will be free to make a cross. The second goal was an example because Josko was free to make the cross.

Ricky celebrated

The poignant moment before kick-off as Ricky Hatton's silhouette appeared in front of the Blue Moon on the Etihad's big screens.

His family were pitchside to see it happen, as well as take in the beautiful banner unfurled in the South Stand.

Nunes reaction 🗣️

"We shouldn't concede a goal, that's what we take from this game. It was a difficult game but we controlled it better in the second half. It was a good victory.

"We are still trying to reach the level we used to be with control in every game. We want to win every game but sometimes it isn't easy. We will get there."

Your Man of the Match...

Jeremy Doku was a constant menace down the left wing. He's been in spectacular form so far this season.

Incredible

- More goals than any Norwegian in Premier League history (93 in 103)

- Ninth highest scorer in City history with 133 in 152

- Second most Premier League goals at the Etihad Stadium (52 in 51)

Premier League standings

City move on to 10 points from six games. Where we are in the table doesn't matter so much right now, but we have won four and drawn one now since the international break.

Quite some momentum building!

Punching the air

Pep Guardiola is in a great mood as he walks around the Etihad turf. He's applauding, waving and bowing down to the fans, who could not adore him more.

This feels like a significant moment in terms of the atmosphere in the camp.
