That's all for this evening 🩵

What a win. What a day.

Our 2-minute highlights of the game will be available from 20:15 (UK) this evening – well worth a watch, I think you’d agree.

They’ll then be an 8-minute package on top of the 20-minute extended offering and a full match replay both on CITY+ - all from midnight.

See you on Wednesday for the visit of Fulham!

Thanks for joining us.

Post-match interview 📺

Pep Guardiola 👇

On the match…

“It was a brilliant advert for the Premier League.

“First half was really good and we lost a bit of momentum in the second half.

“Anfield can feel like that. After that, we played more direct and after that we lost the ball and we were so passive.

“What a strike from Szoboszlai and after that, led by our captain Bernardo, we come back.

“The spirit has been there and in general the first half was really good and second half a bit of fatigue.

“Omar and Erling were passive and that's why we struggled.”

On the display of captain Bernardo…

“He is one of the best players I have every trained with.

“He is the perfect captain.

“It is a joy for me as a manager to have him.

“The team comes first. His contribution is massive and he is one of the legends of this club.”

Post-match interview 📺

Bernardo Silva 👇

On his goal…

“Obviously coming here, for me it’s the toughest place in the league by far.

“And usually for most teams a draw is not a bad result but we needed another goal.

“When I scored I was happy but we needed another one. Erling got us that one.”

On the win…

“Obviously we’re very happy.

“But these points count as much as any other points in other game that we slipped.

“It was frustrating in the beginning of the year because in my opinion we didn’t do our job properly. We could have been closer to Arsenal.

“Today I’m very happy because it’s the toughest place to come to in England.

“To get the first win here in nine seasons apart from the COVID year, you can imagine how tough it is to win here. I’m really happy.

“I feel the whole team knew before the game, if we lost then probably the title race was over.

“We felt like we needed to win the game. That puts us a bit closer. The hope is there.

“We’re going to fight until the end. Six points is still six points. We’re happy but we need to keep doing our job.”

Erling Haaland 👇

On the penalty…

“I was really nervous right before taking it.

“All my thoughts were getting it in the back of the net, which I couldn’t do in the home game so I’ve been practicing.

“Incredible feeling. Incredible feeling when Bernardo scored.

“I was hoping he would celebrate a little bit more but he wanted another goal, which I loved.

“In the end, it’s incredible feelings. I’m just happy that I scored.”

On the result…

“We know how difficult it is here.

“We saw in the second half they played good football.

“We managed to keep them away. And look at Gigi with an incredible save from Mac Allister.

“For me it was out of this world. It shows why he’s the best in the world.

“I spoke before the game and this place is so tough to come to, we knew it and I think we started well.

“We managed to stay through and we never gave up.

“This is what I loved about Bernardo's goal, he wanted another one straight away and he gave the signal to not only me, to the whole club and fans, that let’s have it.

“We need to believe and to start winning games. This is what matters in the end.”
