That's all from me 🫶

Well, what a day!

City have claimed another trophy, and it's been my absolute pleasure to bring you updates throughout the day.

I hope you've enjoyed the game as much as I have.

But now, a little break from club football. City return to action on Saturday 4 April when we take on Liverpool at the Etihad.

No need to worry, though. We've got plenty of Carabao Cup content for you to enjoy over the coming days, so be sure to check out mancity.com and the Official Man City App.

Until then, see you next time, Blues b🩵

Title race awaits

Like Pep says, we will see what happens.

Today’s win can certainly act as a catalyst for City.

And with the Carabao Cup being a first trophy for City in nearly two years, I’m positive the players will be hungry for more amazing moments like this.

Yes, it is a mountain to climb, but we are going to do everything we can in our eight remaining league fixtures.

PEP GUARDIOLA'S REACTION 🗣️

HOW MUCH DOES IT MEAN TO YOU TO WIN THE CARABAO CUP?

A lot, always winning a title is difficult. It’s a really big joy and satisfaction against [Arsenal], alongside Bayern Munich and Barcelona, the best team in Europe. Antoine [Semenyo] was really good in the first half. In second half with Rodri and Jeremy [Doku]. It’s only Carabao Cup, it’s not Premier League or Champions League but to win against that team is special.

WINNING FEELING?

It's really important for them [the players] and the Club. James [Trafford] made an incredible competition, saves early on. Max Alleyne at Newcastle. Everybody was involved. Jeremy kept the ball and Rodri in that way that you cannot replace. The team is underneath and winning helps to build the process. You never understand how ambivalent or weak the team can be when you believe it’s done. I give so much credit for the victory, we could not beat Forest at home, West Ham away, Real Madrid, few people believe in us. But the players proved themselves again. Against that team Arsenal, today we achieved it especially without the ball. With the ball, second half was unbelievable.

IMPACT ON TITLE RACE?

I would like to be nine points in front of Arsenal. It will have no impact. Different competitions. They will be more concerned when they come to the Etihad, this will help us at the Etihad against Liverpool. The Premier League is in their hands, they punish us a lot. There were two periods, the three draws with Sunderland, Brighton and Chelsea and then this one with Forest and West Ham. If they drop points, we are going to try to win our games and we will see what happens.

NATHAN AKE ON SKY SPORTS 🗣️

SPECIAL WIN?

It’s very special. Obviously, last season we didn’t win anything so we wanted to win something this season and this was a perfect way to do it against title contenders. It was a good win.

WINNING CLUB

Exactly. We are expected to win things and we expect it from ourselves to win things. We came again to the final of the Carabao Cup, if you’re here you want to win it. I’m very happy.

AND THE PL FIGHT?

It’s a massive boost. Every title is one you take. This gives a little boost. We go again after the international break and you never know what can happen. You never know. We have the FA Cup as well. We’re going to give everything and then we’ll see.

A DIPLOMATIC ANSWER

Antione Semenyo was also asked in his Sky Sports interview what impact today's Carabao Cup success might have on the Premier League title race.

And whilst it is certainly a positive, City will not get carried away, with plenty of work ahead.

"I think it gives us a boost and confidence coming back from the international break and hopefully catching up," said Semenyo.

"We don’t want to say too much because momentum can swing quickly so we just have to do our job and hopefully finish off the job potentially."
