Pep on Haaland: You know how important he is

I said a few weeks ago he feels better than previous seasons. He struggled to handle it, maybe not too much holidays. I'm tired, I'm drained. No Euros he arrived really well. We talked about it in the US. I don't like some things and he changed. He cant play all games until the end of the season. But you know how important he is.

Pep reaction

The team started really well on the front foot. Opponents made an action so credit to them. Always we talk about winning the ball in the past. For what we achieve. This is the only prob we can have. When I see how much respect I have for Ipswich they have something special. I saw the game against Liverpool and how good they were. We played on the front foot and we created enough for 4 or 5. Second goal would have been a problem

And here he is!

Waiting for the boss still... he should be along any moment once he's completed his numerous post-game interviews

More from McKenna...

We showed we can come away to the best team in the league, score a goal and we will learn from this. It was a difficult day to take on City - their first of the season at home and with a full training week behind them. I'm sure we'll improve in the weeks and months to come.

Kieran McKenna reaction

We got off to a fantastic start with a great goal but the game was lost in a five minute spell and there was some big lessons for us to learn. If we had managed to hold on to the 1-0 lead for 10-15 minutes I think we'd have given City a really good game. We should have had a penalty and gone it at the break 3-2 so that was a hard one to take.

More from Pep...

On Haaland: Erling is so reliable on penalties. Assist for the second, fantastic for the third. Last season he struggled a lot, especially at the beginning. He felt tired and niggles most of the time. This time with the rest with no Euros he has arrived with a good vibe. The numbers are unbelievable.

On Savinho's start:  Yes. Not just the minutes but he played really good. The second half dropped a little but but his contribution offensively and defensively was really good.
