Overall: "Not the best start. Lucky they didn't punish us for 2-0. After we recovered emotionally and made a good performance.
"We had more of the ball than the last games. It was really important."
On Abdukodir Khusanov: "He doesn't speak English so I didn't speak to him. He'll be fine. He only made one or two training sessions. I didn't want to push John [Stones] returning from injury - with Wednesday's game [against Club Brugge].
"The players were together. That was massively important. Any player can make a mistake. The fans always support the new players. He's so young. He will learn.
"Now we're closer to Nottingham but Bournemouth are on an impressive run."
More transfer activity? "I don't know. What I'd like is to have the main team at the start of the season back."
"The game started very well for us. We scored the first one and could have scored the second goal two or three times. The game would have completely changed. We missed.
"The team was there but in the last minutes we conceded for 1-1. The second goal changed the game. Robert is the first one [to admit] he knows he has to do better. Working hard every day [is the way to improve]. We try to have conversations with all of them.
"We are making progress. We are better than one or two months ago. These moments will make us better."
The boss has been speaking to the BBC's Match of the Day - here's what he had to say...
"We struggled lately and it has been a tough, tough season. Most players have been here eight or nine years and I am not going to change my opinion in two months. We have to realise it is not enough what we are doing. I ask them to step up and we did it.
"We created enough chances to score goals and in the end I am really pleased for the victory.
"Of course we need fresh legs with Omar and Khusanov and now we have a final Champions League game on Wednesday."
On Khusanov debut: "It is not easy for him. He trains once and then to play against Jackson and Cole and Madueke and Sancho. It is a process when you buy a player this young. He will learn. These kinds of actions are the best lesson you can take."
On Marmoush's debut: "Really good. That connection with other players and incredible movement. It is the first game and he deals with the change and he makes unbelievable movements."
On the win: "If we don't pass the ball, we are one of the worst teams. We need the ball to survive."
"We have to keep winning games. That’s what we need to do. Today we showed great spirit. Now we have to keep going, the Champions League game is a must win, then we go to Arsenal. We have to get ready as soon as possible and stay fit."
The Ederson assist: "It is something we practice. We try to focus on giving space and then Ederson gave me a lot of assists already. It is about perfect timing because he is so precise."
Omar Marmoush debut: "I think I have seen him in Bundesliga and watched him. It is going to be fantastic playing with him. You can see has something special. I am looking forward to playing with him and it is going to be a really good time."
