Group Winners 💙
Congratulations, City!
Congratulations, City!
Erling Haaland is the fastest player to reach 40 goals in the Champions League.
The striker reached that landmark with City's opener in the 3-2 victory over RB Leipzig tonight.
It's taken him 35 games.
Those behind him include Ruud van Nistelrooy (45 games), Kylian Mbappe (59 games), Lionel Messi (61 games) and Robert Lewandowski (61 games).
Didn't look like we'd be seeing smiling faces on full-time as we walked off at the break.
But a brilliant comeback sees us join Bayern as a seeded team in the Round of 16 draw.
We'd already qualified - but this is what it meant to grab another victory tonight.
Brilliant comeback here at the Etihad.
Well done, lads.
City complete a colossal comeback to defeat RB Leipzig 3-2 here at the Etihad – and progress to the knockout phases in top spot from Group G.
It didn’t look good for Pep Guardiola’s men at half-time as they trailed to two coolly-taken goals by Lois Openda.
But the reigning Champions League winners turned it on after the break with wonderful efforts from Erling Haaland and Phil Foden bringing us level.
With the clock running down, Julian Alvarez made no mistake with a close-range finish on 87 minutes after a delicious 18-pass move to spark delighted scenes inside the stadium.
The result ensured we made it through to the Round of 16 as the solitary seeded team ahead of second placed Leipzig, with a December trip to Red Star Belgrade remaining for us in the group stages.

Tune in at the top of the page!
Sergio Gomez trying to get in on the act there with an effort from just outside the box as the ball fell nicely to him.
Too high, though.
Jeremy Doku and Julian Alvarez have made some impact in this second half.
No question.
Gomez for Gvardiol.
There are six minutes added on at the end of this one.
