City moved into second spot in the Premier League after a clinical, comprehensive 4-0 win over Brighton.

Pep Guardiola’s men silenced the Amex with a hugely positive performance that helped keep up the charge for our fourth successive top-flight triumph.

Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring with his first headed effort in the Premier League before Phil Foden bagged a brace which saw him blast past a half century of top-flight goals.

Julian Alvarez added a fourth in the second half, producing a clinical finish after a fine burst into the box by our energetic captain Kyle Walker.

Next up, Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

From our journalist Neil Leigh at the Amex 💬

The City fans have been loud and proud all through this second half and why not?

Some saw this fixture as a potential banana skin in the title run in but City to a man have been imperious here on the south coast tonight.

Pep has also been able to bring on a raft of second half substitutions to help keep his troops fresh for the rigours ahead.

It’s been another formidable statement of intent which should put us in great heart for what will be another testing trip to Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
