What a day!

Chalk that down as a derby that will live long in the memory.

Six goals, two hat-tricks - and a display that lit up the Etihad.

What a way to start October!

We're next in action on Wednesday night, when we continue our UEFA Champions League campaign at home to FC Copenhagen.

In the meantime, keep an eye on and our official app for more reaction to today's match. You can also explore all the stats and reaction right here as this page will remain live.

A message from Phil 💙

Not too shabby...

United boss - 'We were not brave enough'

Erik ten Hag's verdict:

"In possession (we were ) not brave enough –  (there were) technical mistakes and in the end we got hammered.

"There are never excuses in top football. It starts with belief on the pitch - and the consequences if you don't follow rules it goes the way it went."

Pep thanks the City physios

The boss on whether he will rest Erling Haaland at some stage:

"He will take a break. There will be games he is not going to play. We are lucky, last season he could not play many games in a  row - here we have incredible physios and thanks to them, he can play every 90 minutes.

"They are so important - with their hands, they allow players to play."

The boss on our central defenders

Pep on Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji

"We need a right foot and a left foot (partnership) and Nathan I have confidence in him, all the actions in the first half he did it perfectly."
