Manchester City Girls’ Academy is a Tier 1 Regional Talent Club (RTC) and an enhanced coaching centre.
One of 30 RTCs spread across the country, Manchester City Girls’ Academy has five teams – U11, U12, U14, U16 and our Development Squad (WSL Academy).
Based at the Club’s CFA training complex in Manchester and working alongside the boys’ Academy programme, it is headed up by former professional player and ex-Wales women’s national team Head Coach, Jayne Ludlow, who was appointed Girls’ Academy Technical Director in May 2021.
Speaking about City’s youth set-up, Ludlow said: “Our Girls’ Academy vision is to maximise the potential of all our players within a world-class talent pathway that stretches beyond our first team.
“The Academy annually hosts approximately 80 players, and the players’ ages range from eight to 20 years old.
“The holistic player development programme that runs within the Academy aims to facilitate the growth of top-level players who can impact the highest level of the game in the future."
