Jakarta Tour Delivers Unique Football and Cultural Experience for Manchester City Football Programs Perth Players
A group of players from Manchester City Football Programs Perth returned home with a collection of unforgettable memories following an exciting football and cultural tour to Jakarta, Indonesia.
Delivered in partnership with British School Jakarta (BSJ), the week-long experience provided players with the opportunity to challenge themselves in a new environment, connect with young footballers from another country and deepen their understanding of both football and Indonesian culture.
Throughout the tour, players took part in a varied program of training sessions, theory workshops and match play, all hosted at the outstanding facilities of British School Jakarta. The experience exposed participants to different styles of play and new perspectives on the game while reinforcing the core principles and values of the Manchester City Football Programs methodology.

On the pitch, the squad embraced a series of competitive fixtures and football activities against local opposition, testing their skills in unfamiliar surroundings and gaining valuable experience through every challenge. The week culminated in a tournament environment against top local teams that showcased the progress made across the tour and provided plenty of memorable moments for players, coaches and families alike.
Beyond the football program, participants enjoyed a range of cultural experiences that helped bring Jakarta to life. From exploring the famous GBK stadium and visiting Jakarta Aquarium, to taking part in a football-themed Bahasa lesson, players were encouraged to step outside their comfort zones and embrace everything the host city had to offer.
While football remained at the heart of the tour, the experience provided much more than technical development. Players were encouraged to demonstrate independence, resilience and adaptability throughout the week, developing valuable life skills alongside their growth on the pitch.
As the players returned to Australia, they did so having experienced a unique blend of football, education and cultural discovery. Most importantly, they returned with new friendships, greater confidence and memories that will last a lifetime.
