The support of the fan club, one branch of our 55 members who joined us in the worst possible situation, after the shameful loss of War City to Lyon, was rejected by all its members today, and when they asked the reason, only an apology. Suffice it to say, I sincerely hope that the victory tape will be broken against West Ham tomorrow so that some people will remember that the fans should not be ridiculed in joys. I hope that tomorrow, in the union, this trauma that hit the fans will continue. That the world always has rewards and God will answer you very soon.

I was privileged to see Colin play on a number of occasions. Suffice to say he was a truly wonderful player and a humble human being into the bargain. He played and scored in the first City match I attended. That was against Leeds at Maine Road (August 1974). It was the second goal in a 2-1 win. My main recollection was the sober way in which he celebrated the goal. He then seemed a little put out when Rodney Marsh jumped on his back to celebrate more forcefully. 'Just doing my job' was the message! Despite the wonderful players we've seen over recent years, Colin was and will remain City's favourite son. A colossus!

I've followed Manchester City all my life. My mum was born in one of the streets next to Maine Rd and used to look after bikes/ cars for 1d and then get in free at half time. I used to stand in the Kippax end when at home and travel on Maines buses or coaches to away games. Loved all the team but Colin Bell was my superstar and pin-up. I even had his name put on my easter egg in 1972 and I've still got the icing!! I used to get anybody i could to take me to the Bell Waldron restaurant when it opened hoping he'd be there. I did get lucky once or twice and have his autograph which I cherish. I was so upset to here of his passing. Gone but will never be forgotten. My hero always ❤

Young kids have pictures of their heroes on their bedroom wall. Well, this 70+ Year old still has a signed picture of Colin on his wall. In my opinion simply the greatest.

My first memory of Colin was when my dad took me to cheadle Town to watch City training and I threw the ball back to him,the next time I met him was before the league Cup game against united when all his fellow teammates turned up,Colin was the last to arrive, but what a gentleman he was and signed my shirt, the funny thing was he said hello to my seven year old son and offered to shake his hand but my son refused,we saw him again three weeks later in John Lewis and he did the same again offered his hand to my son, and again he refused,he regrets it now,R.I.P COLIN 🙏🙏🙏

The first time I ever saw Colin Bell play was when I went with a fellow fan and friend to see City play away against Derby County. The talk on the train going down amongst supporters was that Colin would be making his City debut. In some respects he had a quiet debut apart from the fact he scored a goal which went in off his chest. We went on to win 2-1, another 2 points towards promotion from the second division. Colin wore the number 10 shirt that day, Johnny Crossan was still hanging on to the number 8. Colin quickly settled into the side and as time went on he proved to be a great playmaker. He displayed amazing skill and energy that would decimate the opposition. They didn't know how to handle him. As fresh young players would be seeded into the first team over the years it was fantastic to watch the impact of his leadership on the pitch. He was an inspiration. He was then and has always been my favourite City player, My sister even bought me a number 8 City shirt for my 60th Birthday in 2008. I also had the pleasure of meeting Colin and eight other City players who were in the FA Cup winning team of 1969 at a 40th Anniversary Celebration Evening at the Etihad in 2009, thanks to a surprise gift from my lovely wife Tina. I took along my FA Cup Final programme that I had which was autographed by all on the night and had my photo taken with the team. A night to remember being in the company of such wonderful people and especially my Hero Colin Bell who gave so much enjoyment to thousands of football fans. He will be sadly missed. God Bless You Colin. May You Rest In Peace

I First Saw Colin Bell In The Mid 1960s I Was At His First Match When He Played For Bury F.C, I Was His Age, Straight Away I Could See He Had So Much Talent, He Stood Out Like A Sore Thumb, Far Superior To All The Others On The Pitch, I Was Not Surprised When Malcolm Allison Came In And Bought Him For Around £60,000 Which Then Was A Enormous Amount Of Money, I Can Honestly Say That In My Opinion He Was The Most Complete Football Player I Have Ever Seen, He Was My Hero. Thanks For The Memories Colin Bell, Rest In Peace

Colin was and always will be my footballing hero. Even as a 6 year-old lad at my first game watching City with my Dad, with new season ticket birthday present, I remember very quickly asking Dad 'Who is the no. 8' because even to a know nothing 6 year-old he stood head and shoulders over everyone else. From that point on I joined all the City fans in my admiration and adoration of Colin Bell. Watched Colin play so many games at Maine Road, tackling, heading, creating and scoring goals, always on the move with his endless energy and fitness. From flicked on near post corners to box to box runs and finishing off attacking moves. There seemed nothing he couldn’t do. I was there as an 8 year old when he got injured (not often Dad would take me to midweek games on a school night but it was a cup tie against United) and never forgot the image of Colin being carried off on a stretcher that looked like a bit of old green mesh fence. My child’s mind thought then how sad for a great like Colin to be carted off on something like that. Seeing him carried off clearly in a lot of pain was heart-breaking. Like every City fan I followed his recovery and efforts to get fit again, anxious for news when our hero would return, as did the nation via 'Saturday Heroes' on BBC Nationwide. I was lucky enough to be there on Boxing Day 1977 when the match almost became secondary as The King had returned coming on at half time. The hairs on your neck stood up with the passion around the whole ground just for Colin. The gracious and sporting Newcastle fans applauded him too. His presence creating such an atmosphere to inspire a 4-0 victory – just seemed so fitting – The King was back. After all that, typical Colin was quoted as saying 'it was like 10 against 11 as I hardly touched the ball'. Ever the most humble and unsuperstar Superstar. I had to watch ‘2012, 93.20 Agueroooooo’ match on tv which was a truly unbelievable moment now rightly etched in City's DNA, but for me, different but equally as emotional and with actually being there, Colin's appearance in that Boxing Day game is just as special. God bless you Colin. RIP legend, always The King. 😘😘😘
