Mendy: 'It feels so good to score!'

Benjamin Mendy has admitted that he was thrilled to score for City during the 2-0 Premier League victory over Leicester City.

The full-back got his name on the scoresheet expertly at the King Power Stadium just before the hour mark, cutting onto his right foot and curling into the far corner to mark his second Premier League goal in his last six appearances.

Gabriel Jesus added a second shortly after and Mendy was overjoyed with finding the net and helping the team to claim the three points.

"It feels so good, I was so happy. For the team also at that moment, it was a good time to score. We know that if we push and push something will come.

"At the back, all the team did a great performance. Like this, we can do very big things.

"We worked hard like always. We knew that after the international break it is hard to bounce back. We were patient."

The Frenchman also helped City to another clean sheet and admitted that the team are enjoying this moment and have a unique togetherness within the squad.

"First of all, we are lucky to be able to do our job during this difficult period. Now it's getting better and we enjoy it a lot.

"We are all together, we fight together and we all want to win."

Mendy also spoke about the brilliance of Kevin De Bruyne and the upcoming match against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League.
