Pep Guardiola hailed Kelechi Iheanacho’s impact in Man City's 3-0 victory over Hull.

The Nigerian was introduced as a second half substitute and doubled the Blues’ lead, ensuring he has the best minutes per goal ratio in Premier League history with a strike every 96 minutes.

Guardiola was impressed but insists the best is yet to come from the youngster.

“Kele has talent,” he said. “He is in the box and scoring goals but he is young and we need more.

“We were looking for more control – the people arriving in the box. Kele is there always at the right time at the right moment.”

Reflecting on the three points, Guardiola added: “The first ten minutes of the second half, we suffered a lot and after we came back, we played good.

“In terms of control, in the first half, we played good but we forgot the goal was there! The second half was much, much better. The wingers were more aggressive and more attacking.

“After the goal from Yaya, it was not closed – the game is always open. When you are 2-0 with fifteen minutes left, it is not over.

“It is the third victory in a row and we are happy with the performance.”
